● Location: Indonesia ● Danger: Large, powerful lizard with a venomous bite. Its saliva contains bacteria that can cause deadly infections.
● Location: Southeastern U.S. ● Danger: Exceptionally powerful bite that can cause severe injury or even amputation.
● Location: North America ● Danger: Smaller than its alligator cousin, but still has a powerful bite capable of inflicting painful wounds.
● Location: New Guinea ● Danger: Long, sharp teeth, powerful bite, and a strong tail used for whipping as a defense. ● Their arboreal (tree-dwelling) lifestyle makes them a less common threat than ground-based lizards.
